In Memory

Hi everyone,

Last monday we had the funeral of our beloved aunt Lili. It was a beautiful and serene
service but so heart breaking. Lili's two daughters have become such beautiful young
woman and baby Ella Jane is just so adorable and cute.
It was heartbreaking to see theire grief. They are still so young and having to miss their
mother at that young age, I cannot imagine how it would be like.

It was also so sad to see the despair on Craig, aunties life partner. I can imagine it was
overwhelming to him at the same time saying goodbye to the woman you have loved for
13 years and meeting this big Belgian family whom you've never seen.

Lili had asked us so many times to come over to Australia to visit her. I do feel sad now we
never did. It's now her oldest daughter who asked us to come and visit I think we should.
Lili was so happy in Australia when she was in Belgium she talked about her second home,
which actually had become her first home with such warmth and love. Yes she really loved
it there.

What I particularly found very nice too was the farewell letter from uncle Jos. It was for
him that Lili had come to Belgium because he had cancer in a terminal fase. He past away
two weeks ago and he had written a goodbye letter to Lili it was a very beautiful letter.

The day of her funeral was, although it is already october, very bright and very sunny.
And that was very appropriate because in all honesty I can truly say that aunt Lili also
was a very bright and sunny person, she just loved to laugh even at age 50 she still was
a giggly girl.

One last thing, I hope that everyone in the family can find some peace in the memories
they have of aunt Lili. And in the knowledge she never knew what happened. At least
I like to think so. We don't know for 100% sure but I think so and it's better to think that
way. During the funeral service my thoughts also went out to all the other Belgian and
Dutch families that had a beloved one on flight MH17. You see often thing like this or
equally horrible on the television but when such a thing happens in your own family it
kinda hits you a lot harder.

To conclude I want to share with you one last picture as a farewell of a beautiful woman
aswell on the inside as on the outside.

Hi everyone,

Hier ben ik met alweer mijn laatste kaart als gast designer bij Scrap My Dream .
Wat is deze maand als gast designer snel voorbij gegaan en wat heb ik ervan genoten
dit te mogen doen. De kaartjes die ik vandaag toon zijn condoleance kaartjes voor de twee
dochters en de man van tante Liliane, ze zijn hier in België voor de begrafenis vandaag.
Hoe droevig ook, ook zo'n dingen horen bij het leven vandaar dat ik ook één van deze
kaartjes heb laten dienen als mijn bijdrage kaart als gast designer.

I'm here today with already my last card as guest designer at the Scrap My Dream
challengeblog. This month as guest designer has flown by so fast and I really enjoyed
doing this. The cards I will show you today are sympathy cards. I've made them for the
two daughters and husband of aunt Lily who are here in Belgium for Lily's funeral today.
I didn't have a stamp with the word sympathy in english so I used Thinking of You which
is also appropriate I think ? And how sad this is, it is part of life we cannot avoid disasters
like this when they come our way and therefore I chose one of these cards as my GD card.

Voor alle drie de kaarten heb ik enkel een beetje Distress Ink en een paar stempels gebruikt.

For all three cards I only used a little Distress Ink and some stamps.

GD 2 - Winter

Hallo allemaal,
Hi everyone,

Het is weer zaterdag en dat wil zeggen tijd voor mijn tweede kaart als gast designer bij
Scrap My Dream elke zaterdag van de maand oktober mag ik een kaart opsturen en die
gaat dan online op hun blog de maandag daarop.

It's saturday again en that means that it is time for my second card as guest designer over
at Scrap My Dream challenge blog. Every saturday I send them my card and it goes online
on theire blog the following monday.

Deze keer heb ik gekozen voor een echte stempelkaart en heel CAS. Het is tegelijk ook
mijn allereerste winter landschaps kaart. En om eerlijk te zijn poging 1 en 2 waren
mislukt dit is poging 3 maar ik ben best wel tevreden met het resultaat.

This time I have chosen for a real stamp card and very CAS. At the same time it's also
my very first (ever) winter scene that I made. And to be honest attempts 1 and 2 failed.
So this one is attempt number 3 but I'm rather satisfied with the result.

 

Ik heb voor deze kaart maar heel weinig gebruikt, enkel Distress Ink faded jeans

en 2 Inkylicious stempels.

 

For this card I didn't use a lot of supplies only Distress Ink faded jeans

and 2 Inkylicious stamps and that's it.

Sterkte/With Sympathy

Hi everyone,

Bij cards en scrap is de nieuwe challenge condoleance kaarten maken. Nu wil het toeval
dat we net een begrafenis hebben gehad in de familie en ik 9 condoleance kaartjes heb
gemaakt vorige week. Dus ga ik ze maar gebruiken voor deze challenge. Je mag er drie
inzenden en ik heb er 9 dus ga ik mijn kaarten verdelen over drie verschillende blog posts
en bij elk bericht er één kiezen om in te zenden. In deze post de eerste drie dus.

At cards and scrap the new challenge is sympathy cards. It so happened that we just had
a funeral in our family and that I had to make 9 cards last week. So I will use them for
this challenge. You can join in 3 cards and I have 9 cards so I will devide my cards over
three different blog posts and with every post I will choose 1 card to join in the challenge.
So in this post the first three cards.

GD kaart

Hallo allemaal,
Hi everyone,

Op het challenge blog Scrap My Dream heb ik de challenge van de maand september
gewonnen met mijn baby kaartje Bella Sleeping als je het kaartje nog niet gezien hebt
kun je hier op de naam klikken en alsnog een kijkje gaan nemen. En dus mag ik nu de
hele maand oktober gast designer zijn. Het leuke is dat ik me niet aan een thema moet
houden of bepaalde kleuren of wat dan ook, totale vrijheid dus. Elke zaterdag moet ik
mijn kaartje opsturen met een link naar mijn blog pagina erbij en de maandag erop zetten
zij het kaartje online op hun blog. Hoe cool is dat ? Voor mijn eerste kaartje heb ik gekozen
voor een huwelijkskaartje.

On the Scrap My Dream challenge blog I won the september challenge with my baby
card Bella Sleeping if you haven't seen it yet and you would like to click on the link here
and you go to the corresponding page. So, now I am invited to be guest designer for the
month of october. The fun thing is I don't have to follow a certain theme or colours or
anything else, total freedom. Every saturday I have to email my card with my blog link and
then they will put my card on their blog the following monday. How cool is that ? For my
first card I chose a wedding card.

Zebra

Hallo allemaal,
Hi everyone,

Dit is even een snelle post om jullie te tonen dat ik nog leef LOL ;-) het is even heel
druk momenteel daarom ben ik iets minder actief hier in blogland maar binnenkort ben
ik er weer volop.

This is a quickie just to show you all that I am still alive LOL ;-) it's just that I have a lot
on my plate right now and therefore I am a bit less active here in blogland. But in a few
weeks time I'll be back.

Vorige maand heb ik een nieuwe stempel gekocht en aangezien mijn vriendin wel iets
heeft met zebra's was dit de gelegenheid om deze stempel te gebruiken. Dit kaartje heb ik
dus voor haar gemaakt.

Last month I bought a new stamp and since my friend like's zebra's this was a good reason
to try out my new stamp. So this card I made especially for her.

GD kaart/Card

Hallo, goedemorgen allemaal

Hi, goodmorning everyone

Vandaag ben ik hier met mijn eerste gast designer kaart voor Creaine Challenge Blog.
Ik was uitgenodigd om als gast designer een voorbeeld kaart te maken voor de
oktober challenge die vandaag van start gaat. Ik kreeg een digitale afbeelding (ik
koos voor de fancy pants call me Besties digi stamp by Sherri Baldy)  en ik kreeg een
schets om mee aan de slag te gaan. Het resultaat kunnen jullie hieronder zien.
En alle details van de challenge kun je HIER vinden. Doen jullie ook gezellig mee met
de oktober challenge bij Creaine ?

Today I am here with my first guest designer card voor Creaine Challenge Blog.
I was invited to make an example card as guest designer for the october challenge
which starts today. I received a digital image (I chose the fancy pants call me Besties
digi stamp by Sherri Baldy) and I received a sketch to work with. The result you can
see below. All the challenge details you can find HERE. Are you joining in with the
challenge at Creaine ?

En nu nog een grappige anekdote. Voor de beurs had ik mijn digi al geprint en

ingekleurd en mijn basis kaart lag ook al klaar. Na de drukke beurs week

erin gevlogen om mijn kaart tijdig klaar te hebben en vorige vrijdag was het

zo ver. Ik blij dat ze tijdig klaar was en toen.....

Toen ontdekte ik dat ik vergeten was dat de kaart volgens een schets moest

gemaakt worden. O, jee wat een ramp. Opnieuw beginnen was de boodschap.

Dus toon ik jullie hieronder ook even de originele eerste kaart.

 

And here's a little anecdote. Before the fair I had printed and coloured

my digi, also the card base was ready. So after a very busy hobby fair week

I started working to finish my GD card on time. And last friday it

was finally ready. I was pleased it was ready in time. And then.....

Then I discovered my error, I had forgotten all about the sketch I had to use.

Oh no, no, no,no, what a disaster. I had to start all over again.

Luckily I could finish it on time, so therefore I show you that initial card aswell.
