Special engagement

Hi all,
Hoi allemaal,

I had a very strange experience when making this card. I knew when I started, it
had to be a Tim Holz inspired card and the theme was love. So I was sure I was
going to use red and hearts. So I took out from my stash some really beautiful red
cardstock, it has a little of a shiny sparkle in it. Very subtle. I cut it and ran this
piece through my big shot with the Docrafts embossing folder Lovers Lane - Hearts.
This pleased me, so I was going to work further from there but I didn't know at all
where I was going to. All of a sudden my hand grabed cardstock to use for my base
card and my hands started cutting it and folding it. There it was--my base in ....
OMGosh !! Black cardstock ??? For a card about love ???? Pjew, never been on
that road. I still don't know why I grabed for black.

in, heel subtiel.
embossing folder Lovers Lane - Hearts.

So here we go then.  Dus, hier gaan we dan.

Here you see my initial piece of red cardstock embossed. But on this
picture I already went wild on it with the paper distresser, I rubbed it with
Inka Gold Old Silver and the edges with DI black soot. I did the same
with two small trips of black cardstock.

strookjes zwart kaartkarton.

Next I die cut this heart in white cardstock. It's a Marianne
Design Creatable LR0299 Anja's Filigraan Hearts. I smeared it with
Perfect Medium and then sprinkled Perfect Pearls powder Blue Pattina
on it. After that I added DI barn door and black soot. The center
of the die cut I swooched through the left overs on my craft mat
and then also added some DI barn door. The smalest heart is cut with
a DoCrafts die, I coloured it with DI black soot and then stamped the sentiment
with Versacolor Cardinal. The stamp is Wild Rose Studio CL371
Romantic Sentiments.

Perfect Pearls poeder Blue Pattina.
erop gestempeld, stempel is Wild Rose Studio CL371 Romantic Sentiments.

Here's a close up of a part of the heart. I was hoping you could see the
beautiful shine the perfcet pearls give. But the camera didn't capture it.

Here's a close up of my flower. Hier een close up van mijn bloem.

Here's my swirl it's a Marianne die aswell the LR 0120 and it's white
cardstock on which I sprayed Dylusions ink spray Bubbelgum Pink &
Black Marble. I added some finger painting with DI black soot & barn door.

This small heart is from the same set, Anja's Filigraan Heart.
On this one I dabbed Distress Stain brushed pewter on one side
and on the other side I added Viva 3d paint Blue Metallic
with my fingers.

aangebracht.

And that's about it, time to show  the complete card.

To my feeling the picture doesn't do any justice to the card in real life.
But I am very curious to find out what you think of it. What started as a total
surprise ended up in a desire to show black can be used for a lovers card. ;-)

I would like to enter this card into following challenges:
