ABMTTC Challenge 19 - AG

Hi everyone,

Today's the start of challenge No 19 over at the
A Bit More Time To Craft challenge blog
As always our theme is "ANYTHING GOES"

Last month we were working with a digital image from
our sponsor but this month I have a technique blogpost for
you again. I have a photo tutorial on this technique:
"FAUX MOSAIC"
I learned this technique from Margaret at Sparkle N Sprinkle
and I hope you will give this a try and that you will enjoy it
as much as I did.

Hoi allemaal,

A Bit More Time To Craft
Zoals altijd is ons thema "ANYTHING GOES/ALLES MAG"

"Faux Mosaic of Namaak Mozaïek"

Sorry the pictures are tilted and I can't get them straight.

First you start with getting some small strips of designers
paper. THIS IS PERFECT FOR USING YOUR DP SNIPPETS !!
Cut them in smaller pieces like mosaic tiles.

Take a piece of sticker paper and peel of the backing. Now
lay down on the sticky side your pieces of designers paper.
Make sure to leave some space between the pieces.

When you are finished it looks like this.

Then dump on your piece embossing powder.
I have used SNS Sea Foam EP226
Make sure you cover the entire piece. Remove excess
and heat set.

Here after heat setting I matted it onto black
cardstock slightly bigger than my top piece.

Next I stamped two leaves and heat set. (same EP)
The flowers were heat set with EP314 Amour
I fussy hand cut all the pieces.
The stamp I used is from Viva it's a 3D flower and the first
time I used it although I have this stamp for a while yet.
Must say I rather like this 3d flower stamp. I didn't use the
biggest one because my faux mosaic is my point of intrest.

And here's the finished card. I added a banner with a sentiment
and adhered everything to my card with foam tape.

On this picture you can also see very well how the paper pieces
are embedded in the embossing powder and how the
heat embossing serve as a cement joint between the tiles.

I hope you enjoyed this little tutorial and will give this
fun technique a try. If you haven't already done so.
But to join in our challenge ofcourse you do NOT have
to do this technique. We are an ANYTHING GOES
challenge blog. Hop over to our blog HERE  and join in.

ALLES MAG blog. Dus kom even naar ons wedstrijd blog HIER
en doe gezellig mee.

Thanks for watching, visiting and leaving me a little comment.
Hugs, Veerle x

Groetjes, Veerle x

I'm slinking in here with my head hanging low Veerle. I'm sorry I haven't been around to do any commenting, I get in a funk still and I'm not getting my email notices either. But I have went through your posts and saw all your stunning creations. You always blow my mind with your beautiful cards and they are all beautiful. I really love this technique on this card. Must give it a try sometime. My technique list is getting long, so I need to start trying some out! Big hugs my friend, Brenda

MaryH zei

What an interesting technique, and perfect use of snippets to make this beautiful mosaic. What I like about this effort is that you don't have to butt the shapes up exactly even, but rather let the embossing powder fill in the grooves - such a pretty finish with the die cuts that you selected too. Love it, and SnS has a wealth of fun techniques too. TFS & Hugs
